quote of the day!!!
I so love this guy... and is SO sad that he's no longer here to share his hilarious observations and thoughts.
"I don't own a cell phone or a pager. I just hang around everyone I know, all the time. If someone wants to get a hold of me, they just say 'Mitch,' and I say 'what?' and turn my head slightly."
Mitch Hedberg
Oh, one of my favorites:
I was gonna get a candy bar; the button I was supposed to push was "HH", so I went to the side, I found the "H" button, I pushed it twice. Fuckin' potato chips came out, man, 'cause they had a "HH" button, for Christ's sakes! You need to let me know. I'm not familiar with the concept of "HH". I did not learn my AA-BB-CC's. God god, dammit dammit.
Thank goodness for YouTube

# 359...life after death.
It's not what you think.
It was on my This American Life podcast from 7/18/2008.
Act One. Guilty As Not Charged had me in tears... literally sobbing one quiet Sunday afternoon. Of course, I have been known to cry over anything and everything but this was justifiable.
Author Darin Strauss talks about when he was a young teenager and accidentally killed a girl from his school.
Warning, it is a very sad story but really makes you appreciate your life and in my case, have even more compassion for others.

Poof! I mean.. proof
Here's some proof that we DID climb St Helens and made it back down alive!
I think that's pretty good for someone who's 70... and of course, out of shape 30-something year old.
This was MUCH better than my last climb 2 years ago. My knee hardly sore when we got to the bottom and my time was nearly half of the time from 2006. I want to say thanks to my trainer at the gym and Jim for being so supportive and my mom for believing in me...
And I want to thank my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Frost, and the lady at 7-11 and the neighbor who always waves at me... I could go on... but I won't.
Acutally, I will. Thanks to Julie who was my math teacher from 2 years ago who said I could do it the first time. Maybe next summer she can join us! It's ever year, August 5th, as long as it doesn't erupt!
