back to the grind

Catch up time...

A week ago, Saturday, I drove to San Luis Obispo and back. My dog is SO spoiled that I insisted that my sister dog-sit while we were on vacation. It's perfect...she hasn't been up in a while and it's been years since Kirby has seen her little dog, Max. Kirby is SO happy to have his play-mate back! I will definitely include pictures as soon as I have time.

Wednesday the 22nd, friends and I drove to Whistler, Canada for a few days and then stopped in Vancouver BC Saturday night. Canada is amazing. Whistler is absoutely gorgeous and the condo we stayed in left me realizing how nice it would be to be rich. The snowboarding was awesome, the people were so much fun and we all had a fabulous time! I left my laptop and cell phone at home. GASP! And yes, I did survive!!!

When I wasn't riding or sleeping, I was a knittin fool! I finished my mother's day gift and started on some new puppy slippers for those surprise baby showers I am sure will pop up along the year. I have the hankering to start a new and bigger project tho. Part of me thinks I should frog Rogue and start it all over. How bad coudl that be? I'm sure people have knitted and frogged rogue before. I'm actually tempted to do the must have cardigan but the everyday cardigan looks much easier. Hmmmm....3 options and which one should I do?
My bets are with Rogue at this moment.

Right now, my sister from SLO is staying at my house, stranded I'm sad to say because David and I have both cars but she has the entertainment of the dogs. She has plenty of beer, tivo, art supplies and of course, the internet. Davey doesn't work tomorrow so hopefully they can go play in portland and have some fun "out" time.

I would have loved to have an extra day or two vacation but the first week of the month is the busiest time for me so I haaaave to be in the office. BLAH

Well, back to it!!!
Perhaps I will celebrate a long work day with dinner and drinks at beulahland. It is Trivia Tuesday and my sister, like the rest of my siblings is a genius! She hasn't been there since they expanded so I think it's a must-do for tonight!

Needless to say, I have NO idea where I am at on this and it's been this way for many many months. Please understand, it was my first attempt at anything huge and complicated and first attempt ever at cables. I did get all backwards and messed up some of the stitches reeeally bad. I finally understand the whole cable thing and am tempted to frog it but I think I like the foibles and blatent mistakes. It was made for me...by me. I think it looks cute. It's definitley got character!

Now how do I figure out where I left off so I can finish the freakin thing??

The sooner I finish this, the sooner I can start another one in a neato color! But for whoooo????

Oh my...

so it's been a long while since my last post....when I promised more. Sorry my sweet family and friends. I have a new good reason to update this site more often. My niece moved from Portland, Or to the total opposite side of the US...Tampa, Fl. I should try to keep her up to date on stuff or at least, leave a place for her funny comments. If she wants.

So I forgot how to post pictures and link to websites because I've spent the last few months only reading blogs and updating big, crazy, excel reports for my japanese friends. I literally forgot how to do this. I've been knitting like crazy but the progress seems slow. I will definintely post some of the pics...despite they MAY be secret gifts for you, the readers! hee hee

So..for today, I'm back.
I'm going to be busy busy over the next couple weeks. I've got a real vacaton planned, going to Whistler to snowboard and to have my sister from SLO to visit. Oh my...I'd link to her site but I risk not getting this posted.

Hi mike! :)

O yeah...it's valentines day. No significance here as Davey, the dog and I are all crashed on the couch, just enjoying the evening. I get all my special presents on days that aren't valentine's day. Example: Last week, he came home with a hooge boquet of white Tulips for no apparent reason. The week or two before, I got a gift card for Knit-Purl...a little nifty yarn shop in Portland, Or. Ok, link to site is www.knit-purl.com hee hee. I'm so lazy like that.

Speaking of knit-purl...I'm going to get back to one of my special "projects" for a special holiday coming up which celebrates the love of a specific family member. OK, so it just might take me 3 months to finish this little giftie since I do like having different yarns and projects to pick from on any given day.
